Squeezologists and Slingers: Two Different Jobs
We have two names for the people behind our stands, and they are not decoration. They describe genuinely different work, and the difference decides which package is right for your event.
Worth explaining plainly, because it is the thing most likely to be misunderstood when somebody is comparing our prices.
A Squeezologist makes your cup
On our made to order packages, which is Classic, Signature and Premium, a Squeezologist builds each drink individually at the stand.
Fruit gets squeezed, the drink gets mixed and shaken, and it goes over ice and into your guest's hand. Then they do it again for the next person. There is no batch sitting behind them, which is the entire point.
This is skilled work in a way people do not expect until they watch it during a rush. Squeezing to order while a line forms, keeping the balance right as the fruit varies, and still talking to your guests is a real job. The people we hear about in reviews by name are almost always doing this one.
It is also slower than pouring, which is why it costs more, and why we size the crew to your guest count rather than sending the same two people everywhere.
A Slinger pours the Small-Batch Station
Our Small-Batch Lemonade Station is a different product and we say so on our pricing page.
It is house made from lemon juice rather than squeezed on site, it has no pulp, and it is served from dispensers. A Slinger keeps those dispensers full, keeps the line moving and keeps the area clean. It is a high volume setup for fifty guests and up, and the pricing page shows how it compares.
That job is about throughput. When you have three hundred people on a lunch break and forty minutes, pouring beats squeezing, and pretending otherwise would not serve you.
Which one your event wants
The honest test is what you are buying.
If the lemonade is a feature, if guests will remember it, if somebody is going to stand there and watch it get made, book a made to order tier and get a Squeezologist. That is the experience people describe afterward and it is the reason most of our catering comes from people who first met us at a market.
If you need volume, speed and a cold drink in every hand at a corporate event where the drink is hospitality rather than a highlight, the Small-Batch Station is an honest answer and it costs less per person.
Why we staff to your guest count
The other thing this changes is how many people we send.
A Squeezologist can only make so many cups an hour, because each one is built individually. So the crew size is a function of your guest count and the length of your service window, not a flat number we send everywhere. Two hundred guests over four hours is a different staffing plan than two hundred guests in a ninety minute reception, even though the head count is the same.
When you send us your details, that is the calculation we are actually doing. Hosts sometimes assume a quote is a price list with a multiplier. It is closer to a staffing plan with a drink attached.
What we will not do
We will not let you book Small-Batch thinking you are getting fresh squeezed.
It is on the pricing page, it is in this article, and it will come up on the phone. The difference is real and a guest can taste it, so it is better for everyone if the expectation is set before the event rather than discovered at it.
If you are deciding
Tell us your guest count, your timeline and what you want the drink to do at your event. We will tell you which setup we would book and which staff would run it. Send it through the proposal form and we will come back with something specific to your day.
